Moms,
Do you long for restfulness and tranquility in a world which so often seems rushed and turbulent?
What causes chaos to so easily and frequently unsettle our lives?
Pastor Chris will help us kick off the New Year by examining how the battle against chaos can be won…and the answers may surprise us.
Looking forward to the fellowship!!!
GEMs of Wisdom from “Calm in the Chaos” by Pastor Chris Oliveri of Clayton Valley Church:
Surprise! The battle against chaos is not primarily won through an increase in organization or ingenuity...but by an increase in humility.
1 Peter 5: 6-7 reminds us “Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”
The pride of achievement, the pride of moral superiority or the pride of doctrinal arrogance results in a grumbling, demanding, unforgiving, independent, angry, or morally self-righteous spirit.
Our strongest desire needs to be for God, not for getting what we want when we want it. Remain teachable and resist the lust for praise, power and possessions.
God opposes the proud and gives grace to the humble.
An enlightened heart is a humble heart. A humble heart desires to glorify and enjoy God. A humble heart is visible by satisfaction, peace, joy, hope and contentment.
